Body Balancing

What is Body Balancing?
Body Balancing is deep tissue muscle release in the form of stretching and flexing to achieve a natural balance to the entire body, focusing on the root cause of the deep muscle soreness and tension.
When a muscle spasm releases, this allows the components of the body to naturally fall back into alignment.

What are the Benefits of Body Balancing?
Addressing the whole body using deep tissue massage, myofascial release, and pressure point therapy, body balancing can increase circulation and range of motion.
Body balancing stimulates circulation, which then releases endorphins (the body’s natural pain killers).
When tension is released, muscles can then relax, allowing for better body alignment.

How is body balancing different from massage?
Body Balancing differs from other forms of massage by focusing on the cause of the muscle soreness.
By addressing the cause, we work to prevent ongoing flare-ups. Using body balancing as preventative maintenance as part of an athletic program will allow for better overall care and performance.

Did you you know?
Muscle soreness can be the result of many things. Overuse, an injury, cooling down too fast, structural imbalance or misuse can cause painful tightness.
Compensation pain is a main component of muscle soreness. When an area is tight, compensating causes other areas of the body to become painful.
Horses anticipate pain. In doing so they change their stride to avoid the movement that causes pain resulting in lameness or unwillingness.
